In many ways, the cut flowers in your kitchen were just as beautiful.
Thanks Eric! God’s creativity is versatile not only in depth and scope, but in usefulness. The same blooms can look equally gorgeous in a huge garden or in a small vase on a humble kitchen countertop. There’s a reason why flowers have long been a favorite way to communicate sentiment. Nothing quite like them.

After I re-blogged, a follower from Holland commented on how proud they were of the Keukenhof Gardens.
I would be proud too – I have never seen anyplace like it on earth. I hope to go back someday, but meanwhile I will probably have a lot of photos from there showing up on my blog. Absolutely beautiful. I’d not read that Lewis quote.
Lewis is my favorite author, but I didn’t remember ever seeing that quote before finding it for the blog. Lewis was prolific and wrote on such a wide variety of topics, but much of it is not as widely known. He left volumes of letters, essays etc. and one of my favorite of his works is one hardly anyone I know has read: An Experiment in Criticism, which is about literature. It’s easy to forget that Lewis was a professor of literature, not a theologian.
