“It is always springtime in the heart that loves God.”Jean Vianney, the Curé d’Ars

Spring brings growth, renewal and rebirth.  Yet it also brings rain, mud and labor.  Keeping springtime in our hearts does not mean denying or ignoring the difficult and painful.  Rather, it means looking ahead with hope and expectation, even when the sun is not shining.

That is a beautiful place for a moment of solitude and contemplation. The beauty reminds us of God’s love and the waves below remind us of his power over all things. We are always in God’s hands.

Thanks, Larry. I am so glad you like it. I thought of Jeff when I read it; I don’t know of anyone who has loved God more than he does. Speaking of which, have you seen Life of Pi? A wonderful movie about another man who loved God.

Julia – I’ve so enjoyed and been uplifted by your photos, quotes and comments each day — however your comment today resonates with a truth that brings all of us continually optimistic people to a place where the possibility of an unforeseen reality and the continual expectancy of an idyllic existence collide; which keeps me humble and steadfast in seeking God’s wisdom and discernment. Thanks for your daily reminders of God’s goodness and mercy and grace amid our feeble human attempts to always predict our personal outcomes.

Judy, I appreciate your kind comments about the blog, and your observations about how we cope with our struggles. In the worst of times, I like to remember the verse about God’s mercies being “new every morning.” Thanks for being here with us!

The citing begins with “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:” Lamentations 3:21-26 Verse 21 makes Julia’s reference to verse 23 so poignant!

Thanks Eric, for including the scripture passage, which is one of many favorites of mine. I highly recommend that every struggling believer read these words in Lamentations and take comfort in them.

The sun is indeed shining through my patio door as I read your comment. I am grateful for your kind words and good wishes! I’m headed out to walk in the sunshine with my dog. Thanks for visiting!
