Now that Jeff is home, my days and hours are engulfed in happy busyness. I can’t seem to let a day go by, though, without sending out a greeting to all who visit here. I hope that everyone is having the kind of holiday season that President Coolidge described. Thanks for being here!

Defeat Despair 
Good morning, Julia. Thank you for the lovely pink Poinsettia you have given us this early morning..I’m up early to cut and wrap some Peanut Butter Fudge that I made last night. Happy busyness starts early! 🙂
OOOOOH, peanut butter fudge! Yummy. The only thing better than chocolate is peanut butter AND chocolate! I’m glad one of us was up early today 🙂 but we are enjoying having an excuse to sleep in…I keep telling Jeff that sleep is the body’s best asset when it comes to healing. Sounds good to me, anyway. 🙂
Oh, silly me! That’s the omitted word. I make Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge. I’ve only been making it FOREVER. I love that combo too. 🙂

Yes, I’m tempted to start every sentence that way. “Now that Jeff is home, I think I’ll have some cookies.” “Now that Jeff is home, I guess I’ll go get the mail.” “Now that Jeff is home, maybe the economy will improve.” (You get the idea!)
Great wisdom there, since it brings in the joy of everyday happenings!

Did you click your heels and say there’s no place like home. Hope Jeff finds that little dog too. The fifty thousand dollar question what kind of shoies do you make a shoe fly pie with? I’m still stuck about Columbo’s car being a classic..( more like a classic piece of. Junk lol. Be blessed
Raynard, The Wizard of Oz is tied for first place as my all time favorite movie (tied with A Man for All Seasons – at least you can’t say they’re alike!) so yes, I have thought of Dorothy’s words many times, not just lately, but my whole life. I think that’s a preview of how it will feel in heaven. Jeff is pretty good a finding little dogs – he found Pasha in a litter of darling puppies and just knew he was the one for us. Maybe another one someday soon. May your days be merry and bright! (I won’t say the next line since I don’t want to send you more snow! 🙂 )

Julia tomorrow starts the first day of my vacation. next couple of days it’s suppose to be in the 50’s.( and to think I hope I never get another “day planner which I never use anyway.) One project is to relearn how to use Windows 8 and Picasa and the Windows Movie maker.( that was a hint in there somewhere). If I dont take 2 planned trips, just call me”Benson/Mr French /Mr Bellevdare…( Dont call me “Shirley lol) Tell Jeff I said Hello and thank you both for allowing God to have touched my life and blessed me along the way with much needed encouragement. Raynard, I hope you have a wonderful vacation. It’s warm here too, which suits me just fine. I have been trying to convince Jeff to use a day planner here at home or at least leave me notes in mine, but I think he gets enough of schedules at work and would rather do things from his head – he is much better with keeping up with things mentally than I am, but I keep telling him we are getting too old to rely on that! Thank you too for blessing us with your presence here – and “don’t call me Shirley” is one of our favorite lines around here! My Daddy (a retired pilot for Eastern Air Lines) used to be asked whether cockpit and airline scenes in the movies were accurate. He always told people that “Airplane!” was the most accurate of all the movies 🙂 🙂 🙂
It would be so nice if folks kept the spirit of the season in their hearts all year round. A couple of days ago, I stopped at Michaels (again, ha) and stood patiently in the long line-up. A nice gal and I took to talking and since it was a wait to get to the front we really had a good chat going. It made the wait more pleasant and we wished each other a Merry Christmas on the way out. Usually people are so focused on their time or phone we don’t even smile at each other. So Christmas can bring out the best in people for sure.
I so agree! We always talk of making it last all year, but I plead guilty to being a real grouch myself far too often. How much better to enjoy a friendly chat instead of fretting and fuming while we wait. I wish I could have done that at the post office the other day. For me, it’s easier to be happy at Michaels! Boy have I missed those Christmas sales this year! I do wish we could find a way to keep that wonderful spirit going.
OH man, the post office, Gads! I’ve got a couple of things I wanted to mail but might just wait till after Christmas. I’m adopting a casual, easy going persona this year, LOL. “Keep Calm and Christmas On” 😀
Good plan. I already have a postal scale and use “click and ship” when possible, to minimize my trips there – between the frustrations at the window and those with misdelivered mail, I have to keep reminding myself to be thankful our mail is as good as it ie casual, easy-going persona is still a goal for me, though I manage it better at some times than at others!
