To see takes time

Yellow flower

“…in a way – nobody sees a flower – really – it is so small – we haven’t time – and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time…So I said to myself – I’ll paint what I see – what the flower is to me but I’ll paint it big and they will be surprised into taking time to look at it – I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers.”
Georgia O’Keeffe

What small, unnoticed gifts will we take time to see today?  How can we help others to open their eyes to unseen treasures hiding in plain sight?

  1. It’s so easy for small things to go unnoticed…..and yet they add so much to our lives!

    • It’s like the song “My favorite things” from The Sound of Music — if we remember some of these things, we won’t feel so sad 🙂

  2. TY in prayer. OH, HOW HE LOVES us!!

    • YES Kate, and God says “I love you” in thousands of different ways each day, if we take the time to notice.

Julia, You may not know that your brother ,AL frequently will pick a flower and insist that we hold it close to see the beautiful and intricate design. He always says, “Look what God has made”

    • That sounds typical of Al. He loves animals so much, it is not surprising he would love other aspects of nature.

What a blessing to hear of other people who appreciate & declare the beauty that God displays for us each day! Thank you, Julia!

Sunsets, waterfalls, hummingbirds, deer, rabbits, horses, dolphins, crashing ocean waves, blue sky, cloudy sky, rainy days, butterflies, ladybugs, seashells, wet sandy beaches, sunrises, smiling faces, trees, mountains, snow, hail, icicles….
“oh how He loves me!” Praise His Name!

      • Wouldn’t it be fun if we were sitting around drinking tea together and adding to that list? On and on we could go!

Julia, what a delightful thot! I am now imagining that is what we are doing! Even as I posted this earlier, I realized my “short list” was incomplete: I FORGOT RAINBOWS! When Paul sees a rainbow or sunset, he calls me; sometimes our sons do, also!
You are an exciting lady, bring out much good in me!

          • Thanks Mary Ann, I can say the same for you. The rainbows in Hawaii are amazing. It was one of my favorite things about living there.

    • Thank you too Mary Ann! I always enjoy being with you because you get as excited about things as I do. 🙂
