The best of now

The first flowers of spring won’t last, but we can enjoy them today!

I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here.” ― John Greenleaf Whittier

Good morning, Julia!
This idea is so important.
If you remember that book of my watercolors I showed you, this will make more sense. I’m not as far along in that book by Thich Nhat Hanh as I thought I’d be by now, but yesterday I did a quick painting of a facemask and the word “samtusta,” which is intended to express a very similar concept: we have what we need to be satisfied right now.
Especially as people are going crazy about the plans we’re making and the things we’ll do “once this is over,” we forget that we have today, the here and now.
Of course, as an introvert, I’m pretty much happy here and now. How are you?
I’m fair to partly cloudy.
Praying for you and your family.
Thank you. ❤
